The Future Plight of African American male youth deemed there is no compromise. We as a people will face a devastating infirmity in the psychosocial-economic foundation of our own culture. Thus the loud alarms sounding on the issue of moral standards for more than a decade now have invoked a state of emergency surrounding our communities. We as parents have neglected to achieve the kind of educational , cultural and economic, emotional , moral, political and spiritual supports required to serve the needs of our emerging youth. The obvious results are what we now are forced to grudgingly witness daily on television, in school and within the community ( The new model black male youth )and their moral understanding of humanity. Children you just hold on change is coming. You just keep on praying.
You might ask where did the break down of our youth begin. Let us begin with the Mothers raising their children alone and now feel complied to boldly affirm that a Father (man) isn’t important in the family structure set forth by God. Moreover in 2007 it is apparent that this notion continues to embrace the senseless thoughts appearing factual that a black male is no longer needed. Currently there are more single-parent African-American households in this country than ever before. I would advocate that women take a closer look at this statement and analyze the results of a loving household with both parents involved. I further believe that the mother is consumed with the receipt of The “Check” and willing to disregard the necessity of The “Custody”. Women you just hold tight there is a change that’s going to come. Just you trust in the Lord and be patient. Pray without ceasing mother!
We can not talk about the breakdown without mentioning the Father. Brothers, I pose a question to you. Can we really believe we are men as we denounce the life which we are also responsible? How can we see the true essence of us as we disregard the essence of the life which God has granted us? A life that needs to be enriched with the installation of the head of household. Men its time we call upon our women and remind them that family and the manner which it was intended is still valid today. Men the breakdown is ultimately residing on our shoulders. So what should we do? Perhaps, encourage the woman and let her know its going to be alright. Reach out to the children and reaffirm your status in their lives. Father, I say to you reach out to Heaven. Take it to the Lord in prayer and ask for the aid of the Holy Spirit to reign in your life. Trust in the Lord, He will make the rough sails smooth.
The Black Church should be the mouthpiece of the past, present and future. The Black Church is the visionary voice that speaks truth of power and forgiveness. So what seems to be the problem today? Why is it that the church leaves it to many over zealous and often times media hungry politicians to be the voices crying in the wilderness for change in the present, which continues to impacts the future? I leave you these question to ponder as a Christian who knows what the Lord desires for the family. As a Non Believer I encourage you partake in a prayer life. Through prayer seek to unite with a God- fearing church family. Take the lord into the highways of your social trials and tribulations. Through a spiritual testimony seek to share the good news Jesus loves us. Through Christ the family can once again be united under God great commandments .

You are comprehensive in addressing youth, females, males and the black church. It is obvious when I read it that you are a spiritual man - a Christian. I like that you don't just adress a problem(s) but also seek to offer a solution ....So what should we do?......encourage, reach out and reaffirm. I can hear Sounds of Blackness singing now...Hold on, Your change is coming
Your post was well thought out and very encouraging. I can feel the plight of the single black mother, but also try to encourage others that we are never alone, as long as you have God in your heart. Keep speaking on these important subjects, you have a beautiful mind.
